Residents scampered for safety in the morning of Friday, October 18, as another fuel tanker reportedly exploded along the Enugu-Onitsha expressway by Bessoy filling station in Anambra state, according to a report by The Nation
The incident, the report said, occurred around Omaba Phase 2.
It was learnt that the tanker was loaded with premium motor spirit, also known as petrol and was said to have fallen on the middle of the road spilling its content which flowed into a drainages.
The report said some residents close to the area where the fuel tanker fell fled their homes over fear of a repetition of the of an incident that occurred barely 48 hours earlier.
At the time of this report, no casualty had been recorded or reported in the incident that was confirmed by the commissioner of police in the state, John Abang.

The incident is coming just after an inferno, which occurred from a fuel tanker explosion at the Upper Iweka and Ochanja market, led to the death of some residents and destruction of property worth millions of naira.
Thesuni reports that Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra earlier sympathised with victims of the petrol tanker explosion that occurred on Wednesday, October 16.
Accordingly, Obiano said that the state government planned to compensate owners of properties damaged by the inferno.
